5th february 2026 - with Jenny

Jenny made a splendid still life which looked clean and also had  lovely fresh flowers. She also patiently sat and stood to give us interesting poses. We welcomed a new member Jane, who joined the still life people and also the showing of members work at the end.
Ian J has been very productive today by producing five sketches one being in ink
Sally L decided to do the portraits today, using charcoal and ink and made highlights with a rubber
Sally P did several pen and ink drawings that had her unique style and a watercolour of the still life which had a very realistic tray.
Lesley made two stunning pastel pictures of the flowers, the background really makes the pastels pop
Sally T, just like Ian produced a good many sketches
Sue tackled the still life using pencil, grapes and the lovely roses and Jane our new member copied the bottle and glasses and made a detailed study of the roses which is a excellent start.
Josie made superb mixed media bold pieces and Jackie captured the beautiful light with her wonderful composition
A selection of Avril's. not a good likeness this week
Angela's drawing from last Thursday (sorry I forgot to take it last week) and one sent by email. The last one one progressing from this morning.
Picture
Dianna had to leave early, but I managed to get a photo of her two vibrant watercolours

Frances had to leave early and sent these by email, very good compositions and delicate works
Next weeks blogger is Sally
You will see from the programme that next week there is a workshop for working towards our exhibitions in the summer. The Bowls Club is booked all day,  so bring your lunch, or you may choose to just come for the morning.
The first exhibition, at Eye Town Hall, is for A4 sized framed pictures on any subject or medium, in either landscape or portrait format.  Entries will need to be put into black frames which we will supply for £10. The second  exhibition is at the Bank for the whole of June and  there is no limit on size, subject or medium.
Come and use the time to prepare an entry for either.  Even if you do not intend to enter either exhibition come, and use the time for your own project - you may want to make a start on the Chairman’s project- Colourful!
