Carolyn clark

My interest in drawing began in school days, but was put in abeyance by university studies and a scientific career. On retirement, I started with watercolour at the Putney School of Art. I attended various classes in London. The best tuition for me was gained from SCOLA in Sutton;  it has a strong art department.  Painting is now my hobby and (when it works) gives me great pleasure.  If asked what I paint, my response is anything!

Amaryllis in watercolour pencils and two in watercolour.
A single amaryllis bulb produced 3 stems and 10 flowers over a period of 2 months. It was a wonderful chance to paint/draw several times; this is a selection.

Carolyn drawing in pencil

We made our “Escape to the Country” some years ago.  We have enjoyed the variety of wild life as well as the flowers and fruit in our garden. These drawings and paintings are an attempt to depict the pleasure we have had here.

I have always liked drawing animals and find that the InkTense pencils work well for this.  Our neighbours provided the delightful creatures below for me.
