Dear all,
We hope that you are all well and are enjoying the summer ( that seems to have forgotten to arrive!)) and the newfound freedoms!
The summer programme is well under way and has been attended by at least 7 and up to 10 of us. We have been reasonably lucky with the weather and managed to be indoors when the heavens opened last Thursday at Flixton! We hope that you are enjoying the artwork and photos that are put on the blog each week. It’s good to see that some of you do use them as inspiration for your work. Thank you to Hannah and Noreen for keeping the blog going. It’s excellent!
The exhibition was successfully put up at The Bank and is on until the end of July. Please do try to pop in and see it if you are able. Thank you to Sally T, Maggie-Anne and Jackie for curating it. Thank you also to those who were able to put pictures in. The work, as usual is of a high standard and looks very impressive. We will send an email to participants soon with a date and time for collection.
For those of us who hadn’t noticed...........All of us bar Jackie! The THURSDAY 29th JULY has been missed out of the summer programme. We have now put in HOMERSFIELD. There is a pub, The Black Swan. They are open from 12.30- 2.30 but we have access to their toilet facilities out of hours. The village boasts the oldest concrete bridge in England, a river, a church and village green. You will need to bring your own drinks for the morning and afternoon as both pub and nearby cafe close at 2.30!
Please remember to look on the web page each week to see if there are any changes or phone one of the committee members on the bottom of the programme if you are unsure about any of the venues.
For those of you who might not know, Noreen had a fall ( on her way to see the exhibition!) and broke her hip. She is still in hospital as I write this but is hopefully being transferred to Bluebird Lodge tonight. We wish her a speedy recovery and hope that she can soon return to her home. Unfortunately she is only allowed one visitor due to COVID rules.
We are hoping that all being well, we will be able to meet in the bowls club this winter. There will be another letter at some point and nearer the time, the winter programme will be sent out to you all. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!
Happy painting to you all

I was saddened to read in the Blog that John Blake has died. I knew of his long battle with cancer and of his stroke, but not that he was seriously ill. John and I joined the EAG at the same time, attending the EAG’s evening Introduction to Art course organised by Rebecca Lyne. Over time he developed a distinctive style, I particularly liked his landscapes. He was always cheery, with a good yarn and a joke. We shall miss him.

The Eye Arts Guild is now a member of the SAA - "The Society for all Artists". As such we receive their magazine PAINT bi-monthly. You can see a copy on Thursday mornings, or borrow one from me. They also provide third party insurance cover for exhibitions.
