15TH FEBRUARY 2024 ...

Well I was there, where were all of you?!

Not really.  This is what the Bowls Club must have looked like this morning, with no power.  I think we could have managed without the heat (lots of layers) and the kettle (thermoses), but you can see from the above, how dark it can be in the depths of the room. 
The Blog has been rescued from potential invisibility by the hardy souls who have sent work in today from their sheds and studios flung around deepest Suffolk.  Thank you to all of them for their contributions.

First off the blocks, a lovely InkTense blended drawing by Carolyn.  Great colours and composition.

Next, Daffodils in a vase, ink and pen on paper from Jane, and escaping from the frame in a very satisfying way.

Avril went to a workshop yesterday that involved painting cotton fabric with acrylic paints and machine stitching.  She used the painting that she did with Frances at the bowls club few weeks ago as inspiration.  It was rearranged, restitched and made into a placemat.

Sally T is in the very early stages of a still life in oil.

Sally P hope you have had a good morning devoted to EAG!  She says, 'I myself have had a productive one.  I went over to my studio to paint the prints of previous pen and ink drawings with watercolor. I had also made a lino cut which I printed onto cards. I'm pretty pleased with it as I haven't done one since school! ( A couple of years ago, if my memory is correct!). It's not perfect but I like the effect.
'These are all for my sister in law's coffee morning in aid of the British Heart Foundation.......And.....I sorted out and tidied up some of the dumped work from previous weeks and months!'  Well, difficult to top that!

Elaine has sent a small painting she has done. Looks like a sunny spot.

I've been busy with my iPad, using Procreate to make some bird drawings for greetings cards.  Rather enjoyable. I also turned a watercolour into a small oil, and a big oil into a small one, but that was actually last week!

Well, hopefully next week we will be back at the Bowls Club, as usual, with more pictures all round, lots of still life and portraits of Judith (whose week it will be).  Have a good week.  Today was really much warmer than recent weeks have been, let's hope the seasons have turned a corner, and we'll get more of the same.
