The first task today (for some of the Committee at least) was to put up our new exhibition in the café at the Centre and take down the previous pictures. And a very nice display it makes too, all in their square black frames. Photos of them can now be found on the Exhibitions page (click here). Some sketching was done too, though as usual the birds and animals were quicker than us! The landscapes were more forgiving and twelve of us had a go in whatever time was left. Eight stayed for tea - not expensive when you consider that entry to the Centre is entirely free. |
Next week, for Pin Mill, some of us plan to gather at the Eye Community Centre car park at 9.15am and share lifts. Hope to see you with pencils and brushes ready! By the way, any of you who have seen the SAA's Summer "Paint" magazine will have noticed (1) a demonstration of a painting by Charles Evans at Pin Mill, (2) a John Glover self-portrait as winner of their Professional Artist of the Year, and (3) that they are still looking for more entries in the "Paint a Poppy Challenge".
