"Out of the Shadows" This was an excellent project from Sally T to get our muses, thought processes and techniques going. We all know that without light there would be no painting or photography, but do we always pay enough attention to contrasts and tones and the bearing they have on design and composition? Richard gave us a little talk about chiaroscuro, which (even if he couldn’t pronounce it) was very informative and interesting. Amusing too! In the coffee break our member Bridget Bloom talked to us about the planned open exhibition at Bressingham, and we also heard a little about our own EAG exhibitions coming up. And of course the Summer Programme is about to be published. Look out for information on all these things shortly on this website. Click on images to enlarge them. |

What an amazing variety of aspects to chiaroscuro I am sorry I could not be there but I did almost finish ONE effort ,of several, I would have liked to show. I do so enjoy to relax and paint!!

How disappointing that you weren't able to come! Why don't you bring your work to show at the next meeting?

I messed up my report a bit this week. First I omitted pictures from Ian and Carolyn, and snuck these in a wee bit later. Then I learnt I had left out John's principal painting for the project, which I have now added. Apologies to all. But I had taken just on 100 photos, some of which were unusable for one reason or another. If I have overlooked any other contributions to the project please email me and send me a picture.
