Framlingham is an old favourite for the EAG's summer programmes and good for lots of different kinds of sketching. I am sorry I am once again not able to be out with you sketching, but have included at the end 'one I did earlier'. Thanks to Sally P we have a view of five of the six people at tea, Frances having had to leave very quickly. Also thanks for views of Jackie at work and of the castle. |
A third from the same angle from Jackie, who says, A stunning castle but not looking its best under cloudy skies. Hers is in watercolour I think, which can be a tricky medium for this sort of landscape, but Jackie is an expert watercolourist. She has added an interesting photo of the steep rampart pathways. |
1. View from bridge over moat ditch as you enter the castle. I might use it for an acrylic painting.
2. Done from the exterior with charcoal and wash. Vaguely thinking about geometrical shapes.
3. A little more delicate approach!!!
4. Wash and charcoal of small window of what was the Workhouse built into the original wall of the Great Hall. She likes the window on the sepia paper.
Have a good week.
