Another year, another AGM.  Sally T held the chair, for the last time (after the constitutional 3 year tenure) and Sally P has now been voted in to replace her.    Sally T gave her annual report, which will appear on the website in due course and she will stay on as vice chair in place of Angela L, who has stepped down.  All other committee members remain in place, including treasurer Ian who was unable to attend today.  He has done a valiant job for his first year, coping with a number of changes, including our bank.

Some discussions followed concerning the programmes and how they have worked out for  the year 2017-18.  For the winter, attendances were good.  Sally P observed that only a few items were required for each still life set up - and probably better than a mass of stuff or elaborate arrangement.  Some of the summer sessions were not so well attended and there was speculation as to the reasons, which were varied.
Exhibitions were also discussed.  Results in terms of sales and footfall were disappointing, but this seems to have been happening generally, not just to us.  Depending on developments at Dickleburgh we may not exhibit there next year.  Hannah told us about the plans for us to hold an EAG-exclusive exhibition at The Bank in Eye in December, starting on the 5th (set-up on 3rd).  Watch out for more details.
Sally T was thanked for all her hard work as Chairman of the Guild and presented with a bouquet of flowers.
Angela H took the opportunity to tell us about her ideas for next Thursday’s meeting, which will introduce us to her way of working.  It will involve going outside the club house first to make a few quick sketches and then bringing them in to develop a painting on the theme of “a sense of place” - in this case the Bowls Club.  There will be a still life for those who wish to do that instead.

The meeting finished with a showing of our “best” work from the summer season.  Sadly (and I am very embarrassed about this)  I was so engrossed in observing the meeting that it was only when people had started removing their work that I realised I had not photographed any!!!  My sincere apologies for this omission as I know you do look forward to seeing our pictures.
